Disk drive developer Toshiba Storage Device Europe has revealed that it has developed a hard disk drive that measures just 0.85-inch.

The new device is designed primarily for mobile handsets and is expected to enable mobile phone manufacturers to include high storage capacities so that multimedia applications can be added. Other devices that could benefit from the small disk drive, according to the company, are digital camcorders and external storage devices.

No pricing details have been revealed.
