Integrated circuit developer AMD (NYSE: AMD) has announced that is has completed the design of its AMD64 dual-core processors.

The company is now planning to deliver dual-core products to the x86 server market from mid 2005. Also, AMD has plans to introduce dual-core solutions for high-end client PCs some time in the second half of 2005.

A spokesperson for AMD said the company expects an industry shift towards multi-tasking applications that require the scalability of 64-bit dual-core processors.

No pricing details were disclosed.
