Worldwide Computer Products News-3 June 2004-Microsoft launches Media Player 10 for Beta testing(C)1995-2004 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com

Microsoft has launched its Media Player 10 for Beta testing before a final launch scheduled for late 2004.

The Beta software is now available from the company's official site and it is inviting testers to provide not only bug and stability reports but also new feature demands.

The main addition to Media Player 10 is the new version of Digital Rights Management technology (DRM) which it claims will improve support for MP3 players and help fight piracy. Online music services will be able to offer portable downloads to subscribers using DRM compliant devices.

The new player also includes improved synching operations and a new Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) feature which will be a standard for portable music devices to converse with PCs, reports Cool Tech Zone.
