Sun Microsystems Inc (Nasdaq: SUNW) has announced the general availability of Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE) 5.0.
According to the company, the features of J2SE 5.0 include ease of development with the help of generics, enumerated types, metadata and autoboxing of primitive types; monitoring and management with the built-in support for Java Management Extensions; as well as performance improvements and an up-to-date GUI for Java technology-based applications.
