Audio, video, communications and information technology products manufacturers Sony Europe's enterprise storage team has announced that Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) United Kingdom, a branch of electronics company Hitachi, Ltd. (NYSE: HIT), has signed a reseller agreement to sell its PetaSite tape library systems.
Under the terms of the agreement HDS UK will be integrating the libraries, based on Sony's S-AIT tape technology, into its range of Application Optimized Storage solutions.

The PetaSite systems are characterised by native capacities ranging from 30TB to 1.5PB and a sustained native data transfer rate of up to 2.88GB per second
