Solutions for the new SQL Server 2005 from software manufacturer Microsoft, have been unveiled by Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq:SYMC), a provider of solutions for the security, availability, and integrity of information.

Symantec has developed solutions for application performance management, archiving, backup and recovery, clustering, security and storage management. Its i3 for SQL Server, NetBackup, LiveState Recovery, Backup Exec, Storage Foundation High Availability for Windows, AntiVirus and Enterprise Security Manager solutions work with SQL Server 2005.

Symantec claimed enterprises are increasingly deploying SQL Server to support mission critical applications and Microsoft said the SQL Server 2005 will give enterprises greater data management control. Symantec claimed its solutions provide a broad suite to help ensure customers' SQL Server 2005 data is available, protected, secure and recoverable.
