CommonTime, a provider of solutions for the mobile workforce, has revealed its intention to port Lotus Notes functionality to the forthcoming Palm Treo licensed to run Microsoft Windows Mobile.

Features of the mSuite solution from CommonTime include wireless pushed Lotus Notes e-mail and PIM, device management, mobile Lotus Instant Messaging, on-device security and AES end-to-end encryption. Palm has recently licensed the Windows Mobile operating system for a line of Treo Smartphones, the first of which is to be made available on the broadband EVDO network from Verizon Wireless.

CommonTime said that as mobile workforces become standard around the world in many organisations, businesses require mobile computing solutions, and claimed that mSuite v4 provides Lotus Notes users with a reliable, secure and cost-effective solution.
