IT management software company CA (NYSE:CA) announced on Thursday (30 November) that it is delivering virus and spyware protection for corporate customers and consumers using the new Windows Vista operating system.
According to the company, CA Threat Manager, CA Anti-Virus and CA Anti-Spyware for Windows Vista have been in beta release since June 2006 and they are also used by Microsoft in its own enterprise environment to help safeguard Windows Vista resources.

CA's solutions are said to allow IT organizations to utilise security parameters defined in Windows Vista and extend them across their other Microsoft platforms across the enterprise, in this way ensuring that security policies are consistently enforced before, during and after platform migration.
Existing corporate customers with current maintenance agreements will be able to upgrade to Windows Vista-supported versions of CA Threat Manager, CA Anti-Virus and CA Anti-Spyware at no cost, since CA does not license the solutions by platform, and current home and home office users of CA security software, including CA Internet Security Suite, CA Anti-Virus, CA Anti-Spyware, CA Anti-Spam and CA Personal Firewall, will also be able to upgrade to Windows Vista-supported versions of those products at no cost. No other pricing details were disclosed.
