The ultra-light LIFEBOOK S2110 notebook has been unveiled by computer company Fujitsu Siemens Computers, featuring AMD Turion 64 Mobile Technology from Advanced Micro Devices (NYSE:AMD), a provider of microprocessor solutions.

The AMD64-based corporate notebook features flexible bay modules for a second optical drive or battery pack, a 13.3" display with 280 cd/m brightness and weighs 1.64kg.

Fujitsu Siemens Computers said the LIFEBOOK S2110 offers integrated WLAN functionality to Atheros 802.11 a/b/g standards and further connection options which feature dust guards to ensure stability. The notebook provides integrated virus protection at platform level, improving e-mail, instant messaging and web surfing security and network and memory protection.

According to AMD, its Turion 64 mobile technology is the only processor available which offers 64 bits for thin and light notebook PCs. AMD said the mobile technology includes an Enhanced Virus Protection system, helps increase battery life and ensures, through PowerNow!, that the processor generates less heat under normal conditions.
