The consumer launch of the new Office software suite from Microsoft has been delayed until 2007 to coincide with the postponed release of the consumer version of its Windows Vista operating system.
Microsoft said the mainstream launch of Office 2007 will be delayed until January, although a version will be available from November 2006 for corporate customers.

Some six versions of the Windows Vista operating system are planned by Microsoft, including three for home users. Microsoft revealed earlier in the week that Vista has been delayed due to efforts to improve security in the system.
