The public beta version of the new Norton 360 consumer security service has been released by Symantec Corp (Nasdaq:SYMC), a security solutions provider, as part of its Security 2.0 line for online security.

Symantec said the solution combines its PC security and tuneup technologies with new automated backup and online transaction security capabilities.
