Computer company Apple has announced a new 8GB model of the iPod nano RED Special Edition, joining the 4GB model.

According to the company, both models come in a red aluminium enclosure and feature 24 hours of battery life, Apple's Click Wheel and a thin and light design, as well as redesigned earbud headphones and a USB 2.0 cable.

RED is an initiative founded by Bono and Bobby Shriver to raise awareness and money for The Global Fund. Apple said it will contribute USD10 from the sale of each iPod nano RED to the Global Fund to help fight HIV/AIDS in Africa.

The new 8GB iPod nano RED Special Edition is priced at GBP169 (inc. VAT), while the 4GB model is priced at GBP129 (inc. VAT).
