A Rev A version of the ConnectPort WAN VPN router has been unveiled by Digi International (Nasdaq:DGII), a device networking company.
According to Digi International, the device is the industry's first commercial-grade EVDO Rev A Wireless WAN (WWAN) router. It offers broadband download and upload speeds and uses enhanced Rev A EVDO wireless networks in order to enable wireless connections, at DSL speeds, to remote sites and devices.

The company said two-way high-speed communications are essential for tasks such as creating temporary networks, connecting remote retail/POS branches and real-time video monitoring. It also confirmed it is suitable for providing backup network connectivity when high upload speeds are needed.
