Computer company Apple Computer Inc has announced that the Core 2 Duo processors from chip manufacturer Intel Corp, will be used in its new MacBook notebook computers range.

Apple Computer claimed the new line will be up to 25% quicker than the previous generation. It said the new consumer computers will be priced at USD1,099.

The company revealed last month that its MacBook Pro notebook computer range would incorporate Intel's Core 2 Duo processors.
