Worldwide Computer Products News-25 October 2006-RIM introduces BlackBerry Enterprise Server for MDS Applications(C)1995-2006 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com

The BlackBerry Enterprise Server for MDS Applications has been introduced by Research In Motion (RIM) (Nasdaq:RIMM) (TSX:RIM), a wireless communications solutions provider.

According to RIM, the software incorporates the BlackBerry platform's security, push-based architecture, reliability and administrative features. The company said the solution provides a flexible solution for organisations, enabling mobile applications to be extended to users without the need for wireless e-mail.

The Enterprise Server incorporates the BlackBerry Mobile Data system (MDS), ensuring an efficient, secure flow of data between BlackBerry handsets and corporate data systems.

RIM said many customers seek a solution which provides the security and control offered by BlackBerry, while enabling wireless e-mail to be decoupled from other wireless applications. It claimed the BlackBerry Enterprise Server for MDS Applications benefits its enterprise customers, along with developers, systems integrators, software vendors and value added resellers.
