IT provider Fujitsu Siemens Computers has confirmed it is offering customers purchasing a Fujitsu Siemens Computers PC or notebook computer, the chance to upgrade to software company Microsoft's Windows Vista operating system.

Customers buying a Fujitsu Siemens Computers computer between 26 October 2006 and 15 March 2007 will qualify for an upgrade to Vista when it is released. The upgrade offer ends on 31 March 2007.

The offer applies to all Windows Vista Capable PCs preinstalled with qualifying Microsoft Windows XP software, purchased within the dates specified. Software will be upgraded to the equivalent, or perhaps higher, level of Windows Vista software, when it is available.

Fujitsu Siemens Computers said upgrades from Windows Media Center Edition, XP Professional, Tablet PC Edition and XP Professional x64 Edition, will be free, though customers will have to cover handling, shipping and VAT costs. There will be a small fee charged for Windows XP Home Edition.
