Intel Serial Flash Memory (S33) products are being shipped by chip manufacturer Intel Corporation, providing memory for products such as PCs, modems, digital TVs, DVDs and printers.

Intel said the serial flash is based on an industry-standard package, pin-out and command set to save board space and simplify board design.

The company said its serial flash provides an enhanced feature set, including high 68MHz read performance capabilities to enable fast flash access times. It also offers security features such as One-Time Programmable bytes and Program and Erase Fail status bits for more efficient system management.

The Intel Serial Flash Memory is available in an industry-standard 16-pin SOIC package in 16MB, 32MB and 64MB densities and the 16MB density part is also available in an 8-pin SOIC package.
