Worldwide Computer Products News-30 April 2007-Apple reveals problem with some MacBook/MacBook Pro batteries(C)1995-2007 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com

Computer company Apple has revealed that some of the batteries used in its MacBook and MacBook Pro laptop ranges have performance issues, although it claimed the problems do not pose a safety risk.

Apple confirmed it has issued a software update to resolve the problems, which reportedly include swollen batteries, batteries not being recognised and batteries running down quickly and not charging.

The company confirmed it will arrange replacement batteries, free of charge, should the problems continue after the software update has been implemented. It stated that users should contact their local Apple store or retailer.

Apple said the update should be installed on all MacBook and MacBook Pro computers and extra batteries purchased between February 2006 and April 2007, according to BBC News.
