Worldwide Computer Products News-29 August 2007-Trend Micro introduces new InterScan Web Security Appliance(C)1995-2007 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com

Trend Micro Incorporated (TSE:4704), a secure content and threat management company, announced on Tuesday (28 August) Trend Micro InterScan Web Security Appliance (IWSA), the latest addition to its portfolio of solutions that provide web threat protection to business customers.

According to the company, the product offers an all-in-one approach for protecting the network from incoming attacks such as virus, spyware, malicious web sites and inappropriate web content. It is available in two versions, InterScan Web Security Appliance Standard and InterScan Web Security Appliance Advanced. The Advanced version provides customers with integrated, policy-based URL filtering and applet and ActiveX security in addition to the Standard version features.

The appliance now includes real-time web reputation from Trend Micro, which assesses the safety of a web page based on both behaviour and content. The reputation technology complements the content scanning and URL filtering capabilities the product has had, the company claims.

In addition to blocking outbound transmissions to malware-driven servers on the Internet, the appliance is integrated with Trend Micro's Damage Cleanup Services, which automatically repairs and restores endpoints when outbound malware events are detected at the web gateway.

IWSA Standard v3.1 Model-500 (supports up to 500-User) is priced at GBP5.850,00 (ex. VAT); IWSA Standard v3.1 Model-S (supports up to 1000-User) is priced at GBP7.990,00; IWSA Advanced v3.1 Model-500 (supports up to 500-User) is priced at GBP6.915,00; and IWSA Advanced v3.1 Model-S (supports up to 1000-User) is priced at GBP12.260,00.
