Worldwide Computer Products News-7 February 2007-Symantec announces new features of Symantec Network Access Control(C)1995-2007 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com

Security solutions provider Symantec Corp (Nasdaq:SYMC) announced on Tuesday (6 February) it has extended its Symantec Network Access Control software with new features that enable enterprises to more easily enforce network access control across all managed and unmanaged endpoints.

According to the company, Symantec Network Access Control offers remote scanning in addition to persistent and dissolvable agents, and offers agentless NAC enforcement, Mac OS X agent support, and an integrated 802.1X supplicant in a single product. The addition of Symantec Network Access Control Scanner's agentless assessment functionality is said to provide an enterprise with a third means to evaluate or assess the health of endpoints connecting to its networks, including endpoints not managed by the organization, such as guest users, non-Windows endpoints and networked devices.

The latest version of Symantec Network Access Control 5.1.5 is expected to be available in February 2007 directly and through the network of Symantec's channel partners, and worldwide in March 2007. No pricing details were disclosed.
