Worldwide Computer Products News-30 January 2007-Hitachi provides Liquid-Cooling System for HP workstations(C)1995-2007 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com

Electronics company Hitachi Ltd (NYSE:HIT) (TOKYO:6501) reported today (30 January) that it will be providing its new Liquid-Cooling System for AMD Opteron-based workstations from HP.

This new cooling system is to be used with the HP xw9400 Workstation.

The company says that with the increased performance of today's workstations, heat dissipation is an important issue and its Liquid-Cooling System aims to reduce the heat and noise produced in high-performance workstation applications.

Hitachi's Liquid-Cooling System provides a noise reduction for idle and CPU max load states, and a lower pitch tone that blends easily into background noise. This is possible with the removal of the CPU heat sink fans and then implementing a higher air flow (low speed) chassis fan for liquid-cooling.

The demand for liquid-cooling systems is expected to rise, according to Hitachi, as modern components increase in performance.
