The Digital Products Division of Toshiba America Information Systems Inc reported on 29 January that it has released its next generation of notebook computers, which feature the Windows Vista operating system.

Toshiba has been working with Microsoft for over two years to develop mobile hardware designs and implement Windows Vista features, and has now introduced the Toshiba Portege R400 notebook with Windows Vista.

In addition to the Portege R400 the following Toshiba notebooks will be available with Microsoft Windows Vista: Satellite A135 multimedia notebook with 15.4" diagonal WXGA widescreen display (with prices starting from USD899.99); the Satellite P105 desktop replacement with 17" diagonal WXGA widescreen display and external USB TV tuner (USD1,599); and the Satellite P105 gaming notebook with 17" diagonal WXGA widescreen display and NVIDIA's GeForce Go 7900 GS Graphics Card (USD1,999.99). These three models will be introduced on 30 January 2007.

Also available with Windows Vista will be the Satellite U205 ultra-portable notebook with 12.1" diagonal WXGA widescreen display (USD1,299), to be launched on 6 February 2007, and the Qosmio G35 audio-video notebook with integrated HD DVD-R optical drive (no pricing announced), which will ship later in the first quarter.
