Vostro, a new brand of notebooks and desktop computers customised to suit small business needs, has been unveiled by computer company Dell Inc (Nasdaq:DELL).

At the same time Dell introduced a new 19" widescreen flat panel monitor, colour laser printer and mono multifunction laser printer.

Dell said the Vostro 1000 notebook offers a 15.4" display, dual core AMD processor, up to 2GB of memory, up to 120GB hard drive, a 3-1 media card reader and a choice of Windows Vista or Windows XP.

The Vostro 1400, 1500 and 1700 include wireless a/g/n Wi-Fi, up to 4GB system memory, 8-1 media card reader and MediaDirect with Instant Office, as well as optional Intel Core 2 Duo Processors, built-in mobile broadband and Bluetooth.

The Vostro 1400 comes with 14.1" wide anti-glare display and integrated or dedicated graphics (128MB NVIDIA GeForce Go 8400M GS).

The Vostro 1500 features a 15.4" wide anti-glare display, integrated or dedicated graphics (128MB NVIDIA GeForce Go 8400M GS or 256MB NVIDIA GeForce Go 8600M GT) and Windows Vista or Windows XP. The Vostro 1700 has a 17" wide anti-glare display, integrated or dedicated graphics (128MB NVIDIA GeForce Go 8400M GS or 256MB NVIDIA GeForce Go 8600M GT) and an integrated numeric keypad.

Dell's new Vostro 200 desktop features optional Intel Core 2 Duo processors, up to 4GB of 667MHz memory, up to 1TB internal storage, up to 256MB PCIe x16 dedicated graphics card, dual monitor capability, front panel access to USB ports and a choice between Windows Vista or XP.
