The new VAIO CR-Series of coloured notebook computers has been unveiled by electronics company Sony, building on its C-Series.

Sony said the VAIO CR-Series features 14.1" widescreen and X-Black LCD, offering a sharp picture, with 1.8GHz Intel Centrino Duo 7100 processor technology and ATI Mobility Radeon graphics. The computers include a dual-layer DVD burner and are pre-installed with Microsoft Windows Vista Premium and Adobe Photoshop Elements.

The VAIO CR-Series also offers an integrated 1.3 megapixel camera, audio feature, wireless and Bluetooth compatibility and a Click&Play feature to enable users to access photos, DVDs and music via one click and a single screen. According to Sony, the Click&Play feature is embedded in the PC, meaning the user does not have to power up Windows in order to access files.

The VAIO CR-Series, which is available in blue, pink, red and white and features multiple layer coating to protect the screen and keyboard, will be available from mid-July 2007.

No pricing information was provided.
