Computer company Gateway has introduced new technologies to its convertible notebook computer, providing an electronic palette to enable digital artists to create a broad range of art forms.
The E-295C notebook features a pen and digitiser from Wacom, a digital pen technology company, along with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor and chipset, ATI graphics, a 14" widescreen display and an optional finger print reader. It features an ATI Mobility Radeon HD X2300 with 256MB PCI Express Graphics video controller, or Integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100, and offers Intel 802.11a/b/g WiFi and optional Bluetooth 2.0 wireless options.

According to Gateway, the pen sensor technology offers an intuitive way to communicate with and navigate the computer, with the user gaining comfort and creative control for drawing, sketching, navigating and making notes. It confirmed the battery-free Gateway stylus is pressure sensitive, is suited for simulating paint on canvas, and offers 256 sensitivity levels, allowing users to attain various effects, simulating different brush strokes.
Gateway said it also plans to introduce the C-140, a version of the product for home and home office customers. The Gateway E-295C and C-140 are available for order, priced from USD1,549 and USD1,099.99 respectively.
