Cypress Semiconductor Corp (NYSE:CY), a provider of mixed-signal, programmable solutions, has said that its PSoC CapSense enables the touch sensing interface inside multiple HP Compaq Notebook PC models.

According to the company, CapSense devices can replace mechanical switches and controls with a touch-sensitive interface, using CapSense-based "button" and "slider" controls rather than mechanical components.

As well as enabling touch sensing, the Cypress CapSense solution also controls LED indicator lights on the HP Compaq notebooks, saving board space and reducing costs.
