TeleWare plc, a provider of intelligent hosted and on-premise communication solutions to businesses and service providers, announced on Wednesday (28 November) that its Intelligent Office software now has native support for Microsoft Exchange 2007, as well as Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007.

According to the company, the tighter integration provided by TeleWare provides a range of new features, including enhanced personal number support and unified e-mail, voice and fax mailbox within Microsoft Exchange. The solution also enables customers using the Microsoft applications to integrate with their existing voice services providing presence input from legacy PBX, mobile and PSTN into the Microsoft client.

The TeleWare solution provides the benefits of Unified Communications and presence awareness to personnel, regardless of what telephone system they are running, and ensures that the presence information can cover all users in the organisation whether on the legacy PBX or the new OCS solution, the company said.

Further developments are planned once additional Microsoft APIs enable and include integration of TeleWare's intelligent Presence Manager clients within OCS. Further integration features are scheduled to be released in mid 2008. No financial details were disclosed.
