Fujitsu Siemens Computers, a European IT provider, launched on Thursday (10 January) the second-generation of FlexFrame for Oracle.
According to the company, FlexFrame for Oracle V2.0A has been developed in partnership by Fujitsu Siemens Computers and enterprise software company Oracle (Nasdaq:ORCL). The solution features: support for non-clustered Oracle Databases; enhanced speed due to the introduction of direct access to database files in SAN (storage area network) storage systems; as well as pre-integration assuring swift utilisation of the latest technology. In addition, Fujitsu Siemens provides customers with service support regarding the FlexFrame for Oracle solution.

The higher system utilisation offered by FlexFrame for Oracle V2.0A reportedly increases return on server investment and can lead to savings of up to 50% by reducing server and system sizes, as well as lowering administration and maintenance costs.
The Linux-based solution runs on PRIMERGY blade servers, controlled and managed by the FlexFrame for Oracle Control Center, and based on the Oracle Database 10g and Oracle Real Application Clusters as well as single instances of Oracle9i Database and Oracle Database 10g, the company said.
FlexFrame for Oracle V2.0A implementations are built to match customer needs by Fujitsu Siemens Computers. No pricing details were disclosed.
