Worldwide Computer Products News-7 January 2008-Mobilygen's codec chip chosen by Pinnacle Systems for Pinnacle Video Transfer(C)1995-2008 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com

Mobilygen Inc, a provider of low-power H.264 video compression and decompression semiconductor solutions, announced on Friday (4 January) that Pinnacle Systems, Inc, a provider of video editing and media adapters and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Avid Technology, Inc, has selected Mobilygen's MG1264 H.264 SD codec chip for the Pinnacle Video Transfer product that is set to debut at the 2008 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, USA, beginning on Monday (7 January).

According to the company, the Pinnacle Video Transfer device records analog video onto any USB 2.0 storage device without using a PC. The device allows users with little or no technical expertise to record from a TV, DVD player, PVR, camcorder or set-top box directly to their iPod Video, PSP, USB flash drive or USB hard drive.

Pinnacle selected Mobilygen's MG1264 for its new product because of its high-quality H.264 full D1 video encoding enabling over twice the storage capacity of MPEG2 solutions, the company said.

The product is priced at USD129.99.
