Worldwide Computer Products News-10 June 2008-D-Link releases new network video surveillance cameras(C)1995-2008 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com

D-Link, a networking solutions provider for consumer and business, today (10 June) announced it is now shipping two new network cameras for remote monitoring of the home or small office. The cameras can be used to create (or expand) a surveillance camera network over an existing wired or Wi-Fi network.

With easy network setup, The D-Link Wireless G Network Camera (DCS-920) connects to a home or small business network -- either wired or via Wi-Fi -- to enable remote video viewing. With integrated Wi-Fi capability, the DCS-920 can be mounted in places that were previously unsuitable for wired installation, such as ceilings and walls. The D-Link DCS-910 is a more affordable, wired-only version, which connects to a home or office network using standard Ethernet network cables.

D-ViewCam 2.0, a free network monitoring software, is included with both cameras to enable the simultaneous viewing of up to 32 cameras with a wide range of remote control features. D-Link claims that the new cameras connect quickly and easily to an existing network, facilitating streaming high quality MJPEG video for viewing either locally or over the Internet.

Both cameras can be accessed and controlled using any Java-enabled browser. They allow both the taking of snapshots and recording directly from the web browser to a local hard drive. The cameras can be configured to detect motion, send e-mail alerts when motion is triggered and record to a computer on the home network or attached storage devices for detailed video monitoring and playback.

The DCS-910 has an MSRP of USD99.99, with the DCS-920 Wi-FI version priced at USD119.99.
