Worldwide Computer Products News-2 June 2008-Acrobat 9 Software launched by Adobe(C)1995-2008 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com

The launch of Adobe Acrobat 9 software has been announced by Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE), aiming to provide an upgrade that will improve the process of creating and sharing electronic documents.

The company said that Acrobat 9 delivers native support for Adobe Flash technology, unifies a range of content in rich PDF Portfolios, and provides access to real-time capabilities for co-navigating a PDF document with colleagues.

Acrobat 9 enables users to include Adobe Flash Player compatible video and application files in PDF documents, with recipients needing free Adobe Reader 9 software to access the content.

In addition Acrobat 9 has the ability to unify a range of content into a single document with the new concept of PDF Portfolios, which enable business professionals to assemble multiple media types into one, compressed PDF file.

Acrobat 9 also gives users access to capabilities for collaborating live within a PDF document, a process which is enabled by working with Acrobat.com, a new suite of hosted services Adobe has introduced as public beta.

The company said that Acrobat 9 Pro Extended, Acrobat 9 Pro and Acrobat 9 Standard for Microsoft Windows, and Acrobat 9 Pro for Mac OS X, are expected to be available by July 2008 in English, French, German, and Japanese language versions.

Acrobat 9 Pro Extended is expected to be available for USD699, with registered users of qualifying earlier versions of Acrobat 2 being able to upgrade to Acrobat 9 Pro Extended for USD229. Acrobat 9 Pro is expected to be available for USD449, with registered users of qualifying earlier versions of Acrobat 3 being able to upgrade to Acrobat 9 Pro for USD159. In addition Acrobat 9 Standard is expected to be available for USD299, and registered users of qualifying earlier versions of Acrobat 4 can upgrade to Acrobat 9 Standard for USD99.
