Research In Motion (RIM) (NasdaqGS:RIMM), a designer, manufacturer and marketer of wireless solutions for the mobile communications market, announced today (12 May) the introduction of the BlackBerry Bold smartphone.
The new BlackBerry Bold is reportedly the first BlackBerry smartphone to support tri-band HSDPA high-speed networks around the world. It has a black exterior, satin chrome finished frame and leather-like backplate.

The phone features integrated GPS and Wi-Fi, a newly designed full-QWERTY keyboard, a 128 MB Flash memory plus 1 GB on-board storage memory, as well as a microSD/SDHC memory card slot.
The new BlackBerry Bold also features BlackBerry productivity applications, including phone, e-mail, messaging, organiser and browser, a 2 megapixel camera with video recording capability, built-in flash and 5x digital zoom.
The BlackBerry Bold smartphone (model number: 9000) is scheduled to be available from wireless carriers around the world from this summer.
