AdRem Software, a provider of network management solutions, has announced the availability of NetCrunch 5, an out-of-the-box network monitoring solution for small and medium-sized businesses.

NetCrunch reportedly includes WMI, RPC, SSH and SNMP monitors for monitoring variety of systems and devices, and contains over 65 built-in Network Service monitors. It centralizes fault management by collecting and alerting on events from Windows Event Logs, syslog messages, and SNMP sources.

According to the company, the new release features: agentless Linux monitoring; predefined monitoring policies for all major operation systems and most popular applications and devices, including MS Exchange, MS SQL, Oracle, Lotus Notes, Insight Manager, Dell OpenManage and IBM Director; as well as user experience monitors for DNS, FTP, SMTP, POP3, and HTTP/S.

The product ships in two editions: Premium and Premium XE. The Premium XE edition is a scalable version optimized for larger or more intensively monitored networks and is intended to be run on a dedicated machine. The pricing of NetCrunch Premium XE edition starts at GBP4195, and for the Premium at GBP1450, including 1 Year Professional Service Agreement with annual Upgrade Protection. Volume, educational and government discounts are available.
