Active Software Inc has introduced a new mainframe server designed to provide improved scalability and speed of integration without the need for programming or changes to the mainframe system.

The ActiveWorks Mainframe Integration Server features two new technologies - Direct Transaction Mapping (DTM) and Distributed Transaction Routing (DTR) - and is claimed to offer real-time integration of critical mainframe data with e-business applications.

The server runs on Windows NT 4.0 and also requires Microsoft SNA Server or CSNT from IBM. Further information is available at http://www.activesoftware.com.

Available from Q3 2000, the ActiveWorks Mainframe Integration Server is priced from USD75,000.
