CORPORATE IT UPDATE-(C)1995-2000 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

Data availability systems provider Ontrack has expanded its remote data recovery service to cover Sun Solaris users.

The service offers recovery of software-related data loss via the Internet or a modem without the need to remove the hard drive from the desktop, laptop or server computer. All data transferred over the Internet between a company and Ontrack's lab is encrypted for added security.

Sun Solaris users wishing to connect to the service will need a Sun SPARC workstation/server and Sun Solaris 2.5 or greater.

The service, which can be found at http://www.ontrack.com/rdr, is currently also available for DOS, Windows 3.x/95/98/NT, Linux and NetWare and will be extended to other operating systems by the end of this year.
