Nortel introduces IP-enabled network system

Nortel Networks has launched a new end-to-end Internet telephony system for providing converged voice, data and multimedia services to small and medium sized companies.

Called Nortel Networks Business Series the system consists of the Business Communications Manager - a platform for IP telephony, voice messaging, call centre and IP routing communications - and of the Business Policy Switch - a product designed to offer high quality voice over IP service.

The Business Communications Manager product is available immediately in North America and select countries in Europe. It will be released in 4Q'2000 in the Asia Pacific region, the Caribbean and Latin America. The Business Policy Switch will be available worldwide in August.

The complete Business Series package will be priced between USD15,000-USD20,000 for 20 users depending on configuration. The package includes voice mail and integrated routing services.
