CORPORATE IT UPDATE-(C)1995-2000 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD
UK-based data storage company Plasmon has launched a new 0.5 inch linear tape automation range based on LTO-Ultrium and SuperDLT technology.
The new tape products are, according to Plasmon, suitable for most tape storage applications including back up and recovery, the creation of archive files and data warehousing.
Features include support for IBM's StorageSmart Ultrium tape drives as well as HP's and Seagate's systems and an initial data recovery rate of approximately 15Mb/s. Tape cartridges will be provided in 10Gb, 30Gb, 50Gb and 100Gb (native) capacity.
