CORPORATE IT UPDATE-(C)1995-2001 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

3Com Corp has added the SuperStack 3 NBX networked telephony system to its NBX 100 product family, a line of IP-based systems designed to replace traditional PBX products.

The new product uses a company's data network to offer seamless multi-site communications, unified messaging, computer telephony integration, contact centre and other business telephony features. Optimised for large companies, the system gives customers the ability to network multiple locations with up to 600 users per site.

Other features include an enhanced call processor, a newly designed gateway, 10/100 business telephones and 3Com's NBX dialling application for Palm computing devices. In addition the product includes 3Com's Network Supervisor and NetSet management utilities.

SuperStack 3 NBX is expected to be available in late March, with pricing based on the configuration. For example a 200-station system with unified messaging and 200 10/100 phones will cost USD140,000.
