SurfControl ships new version of e-mail filtering software

The California-based Internet filtering specialist SurfControl has released version 3.5 of SuperScout Email Filter, its tool designed to help companies control and manage e-mail usage, secure their networks against e-mail viruses and protect confidential information.

Version 3.5 offers the LexiMatch context analysis tool, which uses Boolean and content dictionaries to carry out filtering operations. Other features include remote management of the system, the ability for companies with Microsoft Exchange 5.5 to manage both internal and external e-mail communications and the use of special technology to allow administrators to recognise explicit adult image files.

Pricing was not disclosed.
