A new study has been conducted by research and advisory firm Gartner looking at multichannel retailing in the US and Europe.

Approximately 75% of all those taking part in the survey claimed that they either already have a multichannel marketing strategy or were planning to implement one. Gartner also found that 45% of those with a web site intend to replace, re-engineer or improve their site while 39% planned to focus on point-of-sale systems, database management systems and in-store systems.

The survey polled 375 companies between September 2001 and December 2001.
