Reuters Messaging service available now

CORPORATE IT UPDATE-(C)1995-2002 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

Information, news and technology group Reuters has introduced its Reuters Messaging service for the financial services industry.

Subscribers to the service can let their employees communicate via instant messaging with their colleagues or customers. A contacts network is available in a service directory which informs the user of whether a particular contact is online or not. Also, group conversations are possible with a selection of contacts.

Reuters will include the instant messaging service into its Reuters 3000 Xtra, Reuters Bridgestation and ReutersPlus desktop services.

No pricing details were disclosed.
