CORPORATE IT UPDATE-(C)1995-2002 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

Market intelligence and advisory firm IDC has reported that Western European financial institutions are delaying spending on straight-through-processing and front-to-back integration.

The delay is reportedly due to current market and economic conditions as well as the complexity of the project and the size of the investment required.

A spokesperson for IDC has said that financial companies are less eager to initiate long projects and are tending to delay those that do not offer a measurable return on investment.
