Business security company Novell Inc has completed a study and found that busy or apathetic workers in the UK could be causing the spread of a number of viruses.
The survey showed that two-thirds of employees claimed that they are unaware of basic virus prevention measures while one-third said they were too busy to check e-mails before opening them. Also, nine out of ten workers in the UK thought they had no part to play in preventing the spread of viruses and the responsibility was down to the IT department.
A spokesperson for Novell said that UK workers could be introducing a virus to their company's systems through lack of time, technology experience or care.
