CORPORATE IT UPDATE-(C)1995-2004 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

Software installation, deployment packaging and updating solutions provider InstallShield Software Corp has released its Patch Impact Manager to enable systems administrators to determine if the installation of a software patch would have a detrimental effect on a network.

This will allow companies to focus more on its testing efforts, improve the reliability of patch deployments and reduce the total cost of ownership, according to InstallShield.

A spokesperson for the company said that missing out the patch testing step could result in service disruptions and the need to repair modified machines.

Pricing starts at EUR2,499 for up to 500 desktops and EUR3,999 for companies with up to 1,000 desktops.
