Hitachi Data Systems announces virtualisation connectivity support for IBM Enterprise Storage Server

Hitachi Data Systems Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd (NYSE: HIT), has announced the completion of interoperability tests between IBM's TotalStorage Enterprise Storage Server Series and the recently announced Hitachi TagmaStore Universal Storage Platform.

Hitachi TagmaStore Universal Storage Platform adds IBM TotalStorage Enterprise Storage Server Models 750, 800 and 800 turbo as supported storage, the company claims. The Hitachi Thunder 9200 and Thunder 9500V Series modular storage systems were announced as supported by the IBM TotalStorage SAN Volume Controller, an IBM storage virtualisation product.
