CORPORATE IT UPDATE-(C)1995-2004 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD
SurfControl (London: SRF), a provider of enterprise web and e-mail filtering, has released a product that will allow corporate IT managers to filter remote workers' Internet access regardless of how their PC connects to the web.
According to the company, SurfControl Mobile Filter is an optional upgrade to SurfControl Web Filter v5.0, released simultaneously, and has been developed after the increase in mobile computing.
SurfControl has said that its Mobile Filter is installed on the laptop or mobile device itself and communicates with a dedicated server installed on the organisation's own network. This reportedly allows it to filter Internet usage of remote workers based on the pre-determined Acceptable Use Policy.
