CORPORATE IT UPDATE-(C)1995-2004 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD
SAVVIS Communications (Nasdaq: SVVS), a global IT utility, has released its virtualised IT services delivery platform in the United Kingdom.
The company has said that it is using a utility model, according to which companies only pay for the services they use. The outsourced technology platform reportedly allows UK businesses to eliminate hardware and associated IT infrastructure and could apparently cut annual IT spending by up to 50%.
SAVVIS has said that the platform integrates virtualisation technologies and deploys managed utility services from the data centre in Reading, with services including managed hosting and network services, media services (printing and publishing) and application utilities, such as managed voice over IP.
