PRIMERGY servers based on AMD processors to be introduced by Fujitsu Siemens Computers

CORPORATE IT UPDATE-(C)1995-2005 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

European IT provider Fujitsu Siemens Computers announced on Thursday (1 September) that it is to add AMD Opteron processors to its PRIMERGY server line.

According to the company, products based on the AMD Opteron processor will take advantage of the dual core processing technology which assembles two physical processor cores on one die, improving the server offering for the Dynamic Data Center.

PRIMERGY servers based on AMD Opteron will be available for shipping by the end of 2005. No pricing information was available.
