Fujitsu Siemens launches PRIMERGY BX630 8-socket server blade

Fujitsu Siemens Computers, a European IT provider, has announced the launch of its new PRIMERGY BX630 8-socket server blade designed for the PRIMERGY Advanced Blade Ecosystem BX600 S2.

According to the company, the new BX630 8-socket server blade is a high density server blade for server farms and data center applications, featuring AMD Opteron Processors from computer chip technology company AMD (NYSE: AMD).

The PRIMERGY BX630 reportedly features up to 2 hot-plug 8-socket server blades per chassis consist of 4 dual socket server blades with two 64-bit AMD 880 or 885 MP processors each; scalability from Dual socket over Quad up to the new 8-socket server blade, which enables 128GB direct addressable memory with 16 processor cores; up to 2 SATA hard disk drives; up to 8x 1Gb Ethernet LAN channels; and up to 4x optional 2Gb Fibre channels.

No pricing details were disclosed.
