European-based IT provider Fujitsu Siemens Computers announced on Tuesday (23 May) the introduction of four new PRIMERGY dual-socket S3 generation servers: the RX200 S3 and RX300 S3 rack servers, the TX200 S3 tower server as well as the BX620 S3 blade server.

According to the company, the new PRIMERGY models are based on the new Intel Bensley platform and are equipped with the new Dual-Core Intel Xeon 5000 sequence processors. The new servers feature built-in virtualisation capability, which maximises server utilisation rates and allows more applications to run on one machine.

The PRIMERGY S3 generation reportedly supports dual-core Intel Xeon processors with VT technology; a separate, independent second bus included in the chipset (up to 1.333GHz) for each processor; new fully buffered DIMMs (FBDIMMs) providing a high-bandwidth, large-capacity channel solution; enhanced ECC (retry double bit errors) and CRC; as well as new SAS (serial attached SCSI) serial hard disk technologies to ensure high system performance.

No pricing details were disclosed.
